Email marketing to grow business online

November 24, 2010 by · Leave a Comment

Growing a business online entails taking advantage of all the options available. One area of Internet marketing that all online business should have is email marketing. It is one of the most inexpensive forms of Internet marketing there is, with huge potential for getting good return on investment. They key to email marketing is building a list of potential and present customers and then creating an email campaign that they will find useful and enticing enough to make purchases. However, there are some things to look out for to make email marketing viable.

First is the incidence of spam. Almost all email service providers feature anti-spamming software, which automatically identifies emails that are irrelevant and transfers them into a person’s Trash folder. They key to prevent an email from being labeled spam is to ensure a healthy subject line without spammy keywords. These would include, but not limited to, the words “sale”, “discount” and “free”. The design of the email campaign itself has to be reader-friendly, and should grab the attention of a reader within a span of three seconds.

Another thing email marketers must ensure is putting an unsubscribe link in their emails. A customer has every right to opt out of the emailing service any time of the day, at any point of the interaction. It is also required that email campaigns be sent specifically to persons who have voluntarily signed up to receive emails. It is also highly recommended to limit the frequency of sending emails to subscribers to prevent them from getting fed up, leading to unsubscribed.

Learn from the best. Witness a live digital marketing trade show in the city of your choice. Whether you’re in Japan, the U.S., Australia, India, Singapore, England or China, there’s an opportunity for you to be part of a spectacular event that brings the best professionals the digital marketing industry has to offer, as well as budding new entrepreneurs looking to succeed in their own sprouting digital marketing era. As long as you’re willing to learn from those ahead of you, you’ll pick up tons of information from these shows that you’ll find in no other digital marketing event.

As any qualified digital marketing specialist knows, advertisements are one of the highest sources of ROI. That is why young entrepreneurs looking to grow their businesses further must take into account the importance of advertising. One of the best ways to keep up to date with the latest advertising trends, look out for advertising trade shows that feature top-tier advertising agencies and companies slugging it out with their own brand of adverts. Take Ad Tech’s show in San Francisco back in March of 2009 for example. That show’s special guest was none other than Google, bringing forth their contextual advertising program known as Ad Sense.

Of course, not all advertising companies can get to solely showcase their services in an advertising expo. Still, expos usually command high attendance in terms of visitors, so there’s ample room for learning and interaction. Make sure to immerse yourself to build connections in the advertising industry. It’ll be beneficial for your company in the coming years to have a few, if not many, friends in advertising.

Demographic targeting for more conversions

Participating, or attending at the least, a marketing expo is one of the best ways to learn about the latest marketing trends and business opportunities. Ad Tech’s Expo Seminar Theatre was launched way back in 2009 to accommodate the need for companies to come together in a single venue to showcase their marketing portfolios. This was one of the very first and most successful expos in the history of digital marketing and new media communication, thanks to the number of participants and it being free to the public.

Say you want to learn more about demographic targeting and how it can be used to segment your current target market to get more meaningful results and to drive higher conversions. The beauty of marketing expos is that you can zip in and out of discussion sessions depending on which relate most to the area of marketing you’re interested in. Just this month, there were a number of presentations made that touch on market segmentation and targeting focusing on people’s demographic profiles. You just have to look around and be aware of what each participant is presenting.

To make your marketing trade show experience more meaningful and less of a stress, it’s a very good idea to make plans before you go to the show. One way to do this is to sign up to Ad Tech’s email alerts to receive newsletters, offers and updates regarding upcoming events in San Francisco or in other countries, whichever you prefer. Right now, registration is open for guests and presenters for next year around April to be held at the Moscone Center West in San Francisco.
