Email marketing to grow business online

Growing a business online entails taking advantage of all the options available. One area of Internet marketing that all online business should have is email marketing. It is one of the most inexpensive forms of Internet marketing there is, with huge potential for getting good return on investment. They key to email marketing is building a list of potential and present customers and then creating an email campaign that they will find useful and enticing enough to make purchases. However, there are some things to look out for to make email marketing viable.

First is the incidence of spam. Almost all email service providers feature anti-spamming software, which automatically identifies emails that are irrelevant and transfers them into a person’s Trash folder. They key to prevent an email from being labeled spam is to ensure a healthy subject line without spammy keywords. These would include, but not limited to, the words “sale”, “discount” and “free”. The design of the email campaign itself has to be reader-friendly, and should grab the attention of a reader within a span of three seconds.

Another thing email marketers must ensure is putting an unsubscribe link in their emails. A customer has every right to opt out of the emailing service any time of the day, at any point of the interaction. It is also required that email campaigns be sent specifically to persons who have voluntarily signed up to receive emails. It is also highly recommended to limit the frequency of sending emails to subscribers to prevent them from getting fed up, leading to unsubscribed.
